Creativity under the Tuscan Sun

Write Your Short Story in the heart of Chianti, surrounded by vineyards and cypress hills. Once a castle, the main villa of the wine estate, Fattoria di Rignana, provides a perfect get-away to listen to your thoughts. After this inspiring and creative weekend you will hold your own unique short story in your hands – you will have experienced the fascinating creative process of finishing a piece of art!

Short Story - a creative introduction to the craft of literary writing

This is a very popular workshop, that I have been teaching in Vienna since 2003. This is the first time in Italy!

Contents

The workshop takes the participants through the whole creative process of writing a story:

-   finding the idea and an authentic voice

-   getting to know your characters,

-   the adventure of plotting,

-   discovering the deeper/symbolic meaning of your story,

-   writing gripping beginnings, structuring the story dramatically, etc.

Like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle we will put your texts together to form a solid first draft of your own unique short story.

In particular, I enjoyed the guided exercices that provided a framework and even so allowed me so much freedom. You structured your workshop excellently – there is something happening with my way of writing. Thanks, Pamela

To write sometimes means to fight. To fight inhibitions, to fight my own feelings, my fears, to struggle with subjects and language. In this seminar, the fight became a victorious one with winners only. Thank you.

I very much liked your calm, sensitive coaching style and all your concrete suggestions and your feedback to my text were invaluable. Irene C. Rauch

Your seminar is so intense, stimulating, enriching, exciting – I will miss you all very much! It was such a brilliant weekend! Thanks a lot!" Brigitta Höpler

"Dear Ana, the decision for you and the short story was one of the best decisions in my life! I feel something is totally and radically changing, old patterns that I wanted to rid myself of for such a long time are now finally breaking up and there’s something that flows and flows and flows. I am crossing the border to a new time and that’s thanks to you!" Eva-Maria Stern

I like Ana’s way to work with us and her feedback to our stories, the composition of our group and their feedback, somehow everything was right from the start, one complemented another – just like a jigsaw puzzle, this seminar. Alexandra Bohm

It was your calm concentrated way that I liked best, along with your very wise choice of writing exercices! Mag. Judith Huber
